NAIROBI this winter

Travelling in a wheelchair can be fun

I need a electrical wheelchair to go outdoors because of a bad back and Artritis.

I still travel independantly and hope to get back to Nairobi this winter. People tend to be scared? intimidated? when they read that I need to use a wheelchair which makes it difficult for me to find a modest place (guesthouse/studio/selfcontained room) close to (may be a few miles if road is not too bumpy) the centre of a district (cybercafe/banking/shops/restaurants).
Steps is the only thing that does not work for me. Groundfloor or elevator would be ideal.
I have travelled a lot in the past and adapt well. I don't need luxuries, just some essential comfort and safety.
When I revisited Nairobi in 2003 it was great but I lived too far from any form of social life in a guesthouse many miles away from shops and very bumpy roads.

I love Nairobi because its so multicultural and fascinating to watch the rapid changes.

Is there anyone out there whom could give me advice to which adresses I can wrtie to find such a place for three months: January, february, March 2006 at a reasonable rental price?

My mail address : dammy.vermeers@telenet.be

THANKS A LOT in advance!
